Favorite find was a ring that I think may be silver, gonna get it checked out at some stage, though it does look like a toy ring, which could be a bit embarrassing. Anyway below is some video and photos of my finds.

Metal Detecting Coins and Silver Rings In My Backyard
Still finding interesting stuff in the backyard, I'm also covering ground I've already covered, so it pays to play with the settings.

Better Than Google Maps, Terralink International, Well For NZ Atleast
So I was looking up properties on Google Earth that I had seen on Zoodle last night and I was getting really frustrated because the quality of the aerial photos on Google Earth were crap compared to those I had seen on Zoodle, thought something was wrong with Google Earth, then I noticed Zoodle don't use Google for their maps, they use Terralink International and the quality of their aerial photos is amazing compared to what Google offers up.
I've spent most of the day looking up potential metal detecting spots using this map feature.
Just look-up a property to access a page with the map feature on it.
Or click through to 1 Thorndon Quay Pipitea Wellington to get your map on.

Silver In My Backyard
It's been awhile since I've done any metal detecting, but I had a hankering for it yesterday and I decided to go over some of the trickier spots in my backyard and guess what, I found my third silver coin ever, a 1943 New Zealand threepence. I also found a couple pennies and a buck fifty in change, the old yards still got some life left in it.
I still haven't touched the front yard, I've got big hopes for it, it's located at the end of a dead end street and very exposed, here's hoping that 50+ years of people taking shortcuts and kids playing on it have left behind a treasure trove.

Quick Hunt, Like The Speed Of The Wind
Been over a month since my last hunt, been itching to get out there, that being said, took this hunt pretty easy, only dug about 6 holes.
Found 2 bucks, a spoon and an old toy car. After doing a little bit of research it looks as if the car is a Dinky toy, modeled after the Speed Of The Wind car from the 1930s.

Three Months Metal Detecting Finds
Haven't been able to get out so I made a video showing my finds over the 3 months I've been metal detecting, mostly out of frustration, but it's nice to recap.
